Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Using your hands or a cookie scoop, form small balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Lightly press down each ball with the back of a fork or the palm of your hand to flatten them slightly.
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating vanilla extract, almond extract, or lemon zest. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
