Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (or cinnamon/caramel)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine the apple cider, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Heat over medium heat until just simmering (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Scoop the ice cream into tall glasses or bowls, about ½ cup per serving.
  3. After the cider has simmered, take it off the heat and strain if desired. Pour the warm cider over the ice cream in the prepared vessels.
  4. If desired, sprinkle extra ground cinnamon and nutmeg over the top. Add whipped cream or caramel drizzle for extra flair.
  5. Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy while the ice cream melts into the cider.

Notes

Experiment with various ice cream flavors or spices to personalize your float. Leftover cider can be stored in the refrigerator for 3–5 days.
