Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
  4. Spread the cherry pie filling on top of the crushed pineapple.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layers.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips evenly on top.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and garnished with maraschino cherries if desired.

Notes

Make sure to drain the pineapple well to prevent sogginess. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
