Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker or air fryer: Coat the insert with cooking spray if using a slow cooker or set the air fryer to 320°F.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon, then set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar: Beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and sour cream: Mix in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla until combined.
  5. Combine ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Prepare the streusel: In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Reserve half for topping.
  7. Layer and cook: Pour half the batter into the slow cooker or air fryer, sprinkle with half the streusel, add remaining batter, and top with remaining streusel. Cook for about 2 hours in slow cooker or 30-35 minutes in air fryer, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
