Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9ร—13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown with a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully blended before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined, avoiding over-mixing.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow cooling before slicing into squares.
