Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped and toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  6. Gently fold in the toasted pecans until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Notes

Toast your pecans for added flavor. If the dough is too soft, chill for 30 minutes before baking.
