Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces fettuccine or penne
  • 12 ounces Cajun smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Sauté the sliced Cajun smoked sausage for about 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add in the drained pasta and Cajun seasoning. Toss gently to coat the pasta in the sauce for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
  7. Serve in bowls with optional extra Parmesan cheese or chopped parsley on top.

Notes

For a lighter version, you can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a dairy-free alternative. Adding vegetables can enhance nutrition and color.
