Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel bits or chopped soft caramels

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredient mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently mix in the chocolate chips and caramel bits until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
