Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 bag (30 oz) frozen hash browns
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.

  4. In a greased casserole dish, spread half of the hash browns across the bottom. Pour half of the beef mixture over the hash browns.
  5. Layer the remaining hash browns on top, followed by the rest of the beef mixture. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
