Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of potatoes (russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • ½ cup of milk (whole or low-fat)
  • ¼ cup of butter (unsalted)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Optional toppings: chopped chives or crumbled bacon

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  2. Place the chopped potatoes into the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour in the milk and add the butter. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Once cooked, use a potato masher or fork to mash the potatoes to your desired consistency.

Notes
