  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cups rotini pasta, cooked al dente
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned, breaking the meat into small pieces.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the rotini, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and the meat and onion mixture. Stir gently.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make sure to cook the pasta al dente and drain extra fat from the meats for best results. This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked later.
