Ingredients

  • 2 cooked chicken breasts, shredded or sliced
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed or sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 4 slices of bread (like sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Salt, pepper, and additional herbs or spices to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by shredding or slicing it and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the chicken, avocado, and cheese.
  4. Top with a second slice of bread, buttered side up, and press gently.
