Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain and marinate with soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add garlic and ginger to the same pan, stir-frying for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Return cooked beef and broccoli to the pan, pour in water, and bring to a simmer.
  7. Let cook for another minute to thicken the sauce, then serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For a spicy version, add red chili pepper or red pepper flakes during cooking.
