  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel bits or chopped soft caramel candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop mounds of dough about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
