Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ยฝ cup chocolate chips
  • Cream cheese (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add wet ingredients: Create a well in the center and add melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
  3. Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Roll it out: Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Add the filling: Spread brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  6. Roll and cut: Roll the dough into a log and slice into 1-inch thick pieces.
  7. Bake and frost: Place in a greased dish and let rise for 15 minutes. Bake at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 20-25 minutes. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

For extra creaminess, layer filling with cream cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
