Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed chocolate cookies for a twist)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Mix until well combined and crumbly. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the slow cooker to form the crust.
  3. Add Layers: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, followed by the semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped cherries, and nuts if using.
  4. Layer Again: Sprinkle a little more chocolate chips on top for an extra layer of decadence.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for about 120-180 minutes or until the chocolate is melted and the edges are bubbly.
  6. Cool: Once cooked, turn off the slow cooker and allow the bars to cool completely before slicing.
  7. Serve: Cut into squares and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt before serving, if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut milk. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
