Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven or Slow Cooker: If using the oven, preheat to 300°F (150°C). If using a slow cooker, set it to low.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Chex cereal, pretzels, and nuts (if using).
  3. Make the Cinnamon Sugar: In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Combine: Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
  5. For Oven: Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  6. For Slow Cooker: Transfer to the slow cooker and cook on low for about 2 hours, stirring once or twice.
  7. Cool & Add Extras: Let it cool completely, then stir in chocolate chips, if using.
