Ingredients

  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Mix the brown sugar and optional cocoa powder in a small dish for the filling.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough, flatten them slightly, add the filling, and roll them into balls.
  8. Place the balls on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
  9. Prepare the glaze by whisking together cream cheese and milk until smooth, then drizzle over warm cookies.

Notes

Allow cookies to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
