Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, heavy cream, and butter.
  2. Stir the mixture until well blended, then cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, stirring once an hour.
  3. After 3-4 hours, the mixture should reach a soft-ball stage (about 235°F). Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment paper, shaping them slightly as needed.
  6. Let the pralines cool and set for about 30 minutes before enjoying.
  7. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

Substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different flavor. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for added warmth.
