Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, nuts, and dried cranberries (if using).
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
