Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry the apples, then core and slice into fry-like shapes, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Set Up the Dredging Station: In one bowl, combine flour and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, beat the egg and vanilla extract. In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. Coat the Apple Fries: Dip each apple slice in flour, then egg, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Arrange and Spray: Lightly grease the air fryer basket and place the coated apple fries in a single layer.
  6. Air Fry the Apples: Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the apple fries cool for a minute and enjoy warm.

Notes
