Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (340g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each dough ball about 2 inches apart, and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use a cookie scoop for even sizes.
