Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogi (16 oz)
  • 1 package kielbasa sausage (14 oz), sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by pouring half of the frozen pierogi into the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. Evenly distribute half of the sliced kielbasa on top of the pierogi.
  3. Add about half of the shredded cheddar on top.
  4. Place the drained sauerkraut and chopped onion on top of the layered ingredients.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, and cheese.
  6. Pour the chicken broth evenly over the entire casserole.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, then cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Notes

For kid-friendly variation, reduce sauerkraut or use milder cheese like mozzarella. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
