Ingredients

  • 1 pack Oreo Cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 3.9 oz chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Crushed candy canes, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter until it resembles wet sand. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth. Fold in half of the Cool Whip and spread evenly over the crust.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until thickened. Pour over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the pudding layer, smoothing the top.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle crushed candy canes on top, slice into squares, and enjoy!

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free chocolate cookies. You can also use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip.
