Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and butter over medium heat. Allow the mixture to boil.
  2. Add the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt all at once; stir until a dough forms.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe small bites onto parchment paper.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place churro bites in the air fryer basket and air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and roll the churro bites in the mixture.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with chocolate sauce or ice cream.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free flour. Store in an airtight container for up to two days.
