Ingredients

Scale
  • 32 ounces frozen French fries (your choice of style)
  • 1 pound ground beef, cooked and seasoned (or turkey/veggie crumbles)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, cream of mushroom soup, and mushrooms. Mix well until evenly coated.
  3. In your slow cooker or air fryer basket, start with a layer of French fries (half), followed by half of the beef mixture, and sprinkle a layer of cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining fries, beef mixture, and cheese.
  4. For a slow cooker: Cover and cook on low for 240-300 minutes, or until everything is heated through and the cheese is bubbly. For an air fryer: Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat, sprinkle with green onions if using, and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Substitutions include using shredded chicken or keeping it vegetarian with beans. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
