Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Frosting of your choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the baking soda and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, blend the peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Form balls of dough and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Press the top of each ball with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and tops are slightly cracked.
  8. Cool cookies on a baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack and frost once cooled.
