Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and unsalted butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously to combine smoothly.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cookies have a cracked top and appear slightly underbaked in the center.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For more decadence, consider joining two cookies with peanut butter or Nutella.
