Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well-combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined.
  5. Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish and pour the batter in, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving warm.
