Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • Nutella (for filling)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil, then remove from heat. Stir in flour until a dough forms.
  2. Let the dough cool briefly. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well until smooth and elastic.
  3. Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe 1-inch pieces of dough onto parchment paper.
  4. Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully drop churro bites into hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Roll warm churro bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Fill each churro bite with Nutella using a piping bag or small spoon. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using an air fryer for cooking the churro bites.
