Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • Honey
  • BBQ sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Long-grain rice
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the chicken and pat dry. Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken.
  3. Sear the chicken for 6-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken, reduce heat to medium-low, and pour honey and BBQ sauce over it. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Prepare rice according to package instructions.
  6. Once chicken is cooked and rice is fluffy, serve chicken over rice with remaining BBQ sauce.
  7. Garnish with green onions or parsley, then enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave, covering with foil or a damp paper towel respectively.
