Ingredients

  • 4 large buttery croissants, split lengthwise but not cut all the way through
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and place a baking sheet nearby.
  2. Slice each croissant lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. Toast the chopped pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  5. Stir in the honey, brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into the melted butter.
  6. Cook the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the toasted pecans until coated.
  8. Spoon the warm filling into each croissant without overstuffing.
  9. Place filled croissants on the baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until warm and crisp.
  10. Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a 325°F oven.
