Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and measure them out for a smooth process.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix the sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until well combined. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
  3. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and allow it to boil for exactly 1 minute while stirring.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in the butter and peanut butter until melted and smooth.
  5. Add the quick oats and vanilla extract to the saucepan, stirring until everything is combined and the oats are coated.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Place the cookies in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set.

Notes

For a fun twist, add shredded coconut or chocolate chips before dropping the cookies onto the baking sheet.
