Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, sear the patties for about 3 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Place the seared patties at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and add mushrooms if using.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  7. When finished, serve warm, spooning some gravy over the patties.

Notes

For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge.
