Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a twist, add chocolate chips or try using different nuts like walnuts or almonds.
