Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing until blended.
  4. Gradually incorporate the flour into the mixture, followed by the chopped pecans, stirring until just combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoons of dough and shape them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space for spreading.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes if too soft; alternate nuts and spices for different flavors.
