Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread half of the cookie mixture in the baking pan and drizzle half of the caramel sauce on top; swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Add the remaining dough on top, drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce, and optionally sprinkle some sea salt.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week; freeze for up to 3 months.
