Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Pour half of the cookie dough into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the dough.
  7. Spread the remaining dough over the caramel layer, then drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce on top. Use a knife to create a swirl effect.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
