Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 bell peppers (any color), diced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 24 oz jar of pasta sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups cooked bowtie (farfalle) pasta

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced bell peppers and diced onion to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and beginning to brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side and stir in the ground beef. Cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic, jarred pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes, about 3 to 5 minutes, so the flavors meld and the sauce warms through.
  6. Stir in the cooked bowtie pasta, tossing gently to ensure everything is well combined and the pasta is coated with sauce.
  7. Cook for an additional few minutes to heat everything through, about 2 to 3 minutes, then serve hot.
