Ingredients

  • 1 cup pureed sweet potatoes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. If using fresh sweet potatoes, boil or steam until tender, then mash.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar, whisk well.
  4. Cut cold butter into the dry ingredients until resembling coarse crumbs.
  5. In another bowl, mix sweet potato puree and milk, then combine with flour mixture.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, roll to 1-inch thick, and cut out biscuits.
  7. Place biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden, then cool on a wire rack.

Notes

These biscuits can also be made with canned sweet potato puree if you’re short on time.
