Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the softened butter until it’s light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and salt.
  5. Slowly add your dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix!
  6. Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form small balls and place them on a prepared baking sheet. Flatten the tops slightly with a fork or your palm for an added touch.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to turn golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for best texture. Sift powdered sugar to prevent lumps. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.
