Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 180 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 480 millilitres whole milk
  • 1 packet (78 grams) McCormick Sausage Flavour Gravy Mix
  • 360 grams frozen shredded hash browns
  • 450 grams premium pork sausage
  • 1 can (454 grams) buttermilk biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 33×23 cm baking pan for even baking.
  2. Cook the pork sausage over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it browns. Once fully cooked, drain any excess fat.
  3. Spread the frozen hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish, then top them with the cooked, crumbled sausage.
  4. Whisk together the sausage gravy mix and whole milk until smooth. Pour this gravy mixture evenly over the sausage and hash browns.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the casserole, forming a uniform cheesy layer.
  6. Cut each buttermilk biscuit into four pieces and distribute the biscuit pieces evenly over the top of the casserole.
  7. Place the assembled casserole in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits are golden brown and the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding chopped green onions or diced bell peppers to the sausage while cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
