Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped and toasted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and vanilla extract, beating well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the toasted pecans gently.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, do not overbake and experiment with ingredient swaps for different flavors.
