Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, very soft
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces pepperoni
  • Warm pizza sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Combine the softened butter, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a medium-sized bowl until smooth.
  2. Spread the butter mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread, placing them butter side up on a sheet tray.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer with a slice of mozzarella, followed by 6 slices of pepperoni, then another slice of mozzarella, and top with 6 more slices of pepperoni, finishing with a final slice of mozzarella.
  5. Place another slice of bread on top, butter side up, and cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Remove the sandwich from the skillet and repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Serve immediately with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For optimal crispiness, ensure the skillet is preheated adequately. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a skillet.
