Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French or brioche bread, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk or any milk substitute
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • Icing (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into roughly one-inch cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add the bread cubes to the custard mixture and fold gently to coat.
  5. Grease a baking dish with melted butter and pour the mixture in, drizzling remaining melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly, then drizzle with icing before serving warm.

Notes
