Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (about 5-7 minutes), breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until fully cooked.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Lower heat and add unsalted butter, stirring until melted and combined with beef and garlic.
  5. Add the cooked bowtie pasta into the skillet, sprinkle in shredded cheese, and mix well. If the mixture seems dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, reduce the garlic and adjust the flavors accordingly.
