Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt; whisk together until well blended.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the molasses and egg to the sugar and butter mixture, mixing until fully combined.

  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  7. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool before transferring to wire racks.
