Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Bao Dough: Whisk flour and baking powder, then gradually add warm water to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the Dough: Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Air fry chicken at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. Steam the Bao: Divide dough, flatten balls, and steam for 10 minutes in a bamboo steamer.
  6. Assemble the Bao Buns: Fill steamed bao with sliced chicken and desired toppings.
  7. Serve Warm: Enjoy the bao buns fresh with accompaniments.

Notes
