Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground meat or sausage
2 cups shredded mozzarella or your favorite cheese blend
1 cup pizza sauce
1 cup diced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
Italian herbs, salt, and pepper to taste
Pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add the diced vegetables and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.
Remove from heat and stir in pizza sauce and cheese until well combined. Season with herbs, salt, and pepper.
Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick, then cut dough into circles to line muffin tins.
Fill each lined muffin cup with the meat and vegetable mixture, leaving some space at the top.
Cover with additional circles of dough, sealing the edges and cutting slits for steam vents.
Brush the tops with a beaten egg for shine, then bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
You can customize the filling to your liking by adding different toppings or using alternative proteins.
